Meet Alanna

Alanna The Nanny Diary is extremely blessed to have gained Alanna into the agency as of June 2017.

Alanna has over ten years of nanny experience with all aged children. She has an extremely bubbly personality, caring nature and is always reliable.

She is currently studying a Bachelor of Education but is available as a permanent or casual nanny for your family! Casey and I cannot recommend Alanna enough and have full faith you will want her back after her first visit!

What inspired you to join The Nanny Diary?

I am studying Education and wanted to get some extra experience working with children, with the flexibility to work between my study load. Plus, working with children is so rewarding and enlightening. Whilst children can be difficult at times, watching them grow and building a relationship with them is one of the most amazing things in the world. What are the favourite parts of your job?

My favourite part of working with children is watching them grow and learn. I love watching them teach each other how to do something, or when you teach them something and when they think you're not watching they apply those skills. It's pretty satisfying and rewarding. What's your favourite activity to do with the children?

As I am a visual learner, I love doing craft or hands on activities. Things like making a firetruck with lego or finger painting, or playing with bubbles and making a sand castle or playing outside. Why do you think it's important to have a service like The Nanny Diary available for families?

Life is busy as a parent and it is every increasingly becoming more busy. Sometimes parents need adult time and it would be such a relief to be able to go to a reliable source to find help on hand to look after their children. It must be reassuring to know that they can feel confident and safe leaving one of the nanny's with their children. Why do you think nannies are such a great option for families?

I think it's great to be able to have a carer come in to an environment where you know your children are comfortable. It also means less juggling for the parents as the nanny comes to the family. It is convenient, without sacrificing the quality of care provided to their children. What are your best qualities as a nanny?

I think my best qualities as a nanny is my level of care and my sense of fun and adventure. I like to ensure that the children are always occupied with stimulating activities, yet understanding when the children need to take some quiet time. I always do my best to ensure that my children are having fun, learning and being kind to myself and one another.

One of the funniest things you've heard a child say

I love how children are so honest. I once had a little girl say to me "you're lips are really dry, you need some chapstick." I was definitely taken aback, but it was hilarious... Why do you love being a nanny?

I love being a nanny because whilst at times it can be demanding and can really test you, the satisfaction and reward far outweigh those tricky situations. I love to see my kids grow and develop and I love becoming a part of the family. It is always so nice when the parent's welcome you in to the family and when you build and maintain a strong relationship with everybody.
