Meet the Team - Sarah (Finance)

Here at The Nanny Diary, we don't just have an incredible group of nannies out and about working every day, we also have a hard-working, professional, motivated and wonderful group of ladies who work in our office team to ensure things run smoothly every week for our clients. They've answered a few questions I put to them so you can all get to know them a little better!

First up, we're introducing you to our wonderful Sarah, the brains and beauty behind all things finance at the agency. As a Mum of 2 gorgeous kids with another one due any day now, The Nanny Diary was beyond thrilled to welcome Sarah to our team.

Where were you born and raised?

Born and raised in Melbourne, but Adelaide has been home for me since moving here in 2011.

How would your friends and family describe you?

I have no idea, so I put it to my husband and immediate family in our group chat. They said "family orientated, driven, loveable, caring, honest, efficient, sporty, happy and compassionate".

What do you like doing outside of work?

Outdoor activities with my husband and kids, having a coffee with friends, going out for a kid-free brunch, playing sport/going to the gym.

Where is your favourite place in South Australia?

Any of the beaches in summer!

What’s your career/study background?

My formal qualifications are: Chartered Accountant (ICAANZ) and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom).

Before working with The Nanny Diary, my whole career was at the Big 4 accounting firm PwC (PricewaterhouseC

oopers), where I was a manager in the Private Client team. I loved my time there, but with a young and growing family who I wanted to dedicate my time to, it was time for new beginnings; and I found myself at The Nanny Diary.

What is your role with The Nanny Diary?

To put it simply... I look after all things finance!

Why did you want to join The Nanny Diary?

We used the nannies privately for our kids and were blown away with the service provided by Casey and her team of nannies. I have two young children (aged 3 and 1.5) and am due with my third any week now.... working for The Nanny Diary has allowed me to work in a part-time and flexible capacity, while also being a stay at home mum. Family is everything to me. Spending quality time with my kids while they're young, and still being able to work in some capacity made working at TND a really attractive opportunity. I also wanted to join TND because I knew I had a skillset that would benefit the business. It has been really rewarding for me to transform the work practices of the business from a financial perspective to ensure that the business runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.

What’s your favourite part of working for The Nanny Diary?

I love it when families send me an email with a great review of a nanny they had just had. The nannies are all seriously amazing. I also love having the nannies look after our kids when we need. We don't have any immediate family in Adelaide to help out when we need, and some of the nannies have built really special relationships with our kids.

With Christmas coming up, do you have a favourite festive song or movie?

Movie would definitely have to be Home Alone, and my favourite Christmas song is Jingle Bell Rock!

Next time you receive an invoice, you'll know a bit more about the gorgeous lady behind the email now! Stay tuned for our next team member profile.
