Our Hot Tips for School Holidays

You've got two weeks with the kids at home. It's the middle of winter. It's wet, its miserable, it's been 3 days and you're already going stir crazy. Never fear! The Nanny Diary's got your back with our list of the best things to do in Adelaide these school holidays.

1. Cubby Town in Belair National Park, 17th - 18th July

WHAT WE LOVE: It gets the kids outside, its creative and they're enjoying the fresh (yet brisk) air! Yes it might be chilly, but you can always rug up with a couple of extra layers because this idea is so worth it! Hosted by Nature Play SA, there will be cubby building, wattle and eucalyptus crown making, low ropes, guided walks with National Park SA Rangers, plus plenty of free play in the Adventure Playground.

AGES: All ages

TICKETS: $10 per child, $5 per adult, under 12 months FREE (must book tickets online)

2. Winter Wonderland Ice Skating at the Bay, 1st - 22nd July

WHAT WE LOVE: It's something fun for the whole family! Mums, Dads, brothers, sisters, dogs (well maybe just the really REALLY clever dogs), can all come along and chuck on their ice skates to have a go on the ice rink situated in Moseley Square. Plus the ice rink is under cover, which means you can skate to your hearts desire even if it's pouring with rain! Take a stroll down Jetty Road afterwards for a bite to eat or a bit of shopping. You can even hit the cinemas up if you have little people that will sit still for at least an hour!

AGES: 2years +

TICKETS: $16.35 per adult, $11.25 per child, $37.75 per family (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children). Book your session here: https://winterwonderlandsa.oztix.com.au/Default.aspx?Event=88264

3. The Incredibles 2, screening now

WHAT WE LOVE: This movie is just great, for all ages! Parents will love it, kids will love it, its just all about family dynamics. Yes they might be a family of supers, but the movie centres around the struggles every family face - trying to balance everything! Little Jack Jack finally has his turn in the spotlight and together, the whole family will have you in fits of laughter throughout. Save this one for a rainy day when its too cold and wet to venture outdoors!

AGES: 4+

TICKETS: Event Cinemas Marion, Picadilly Cinema North Adelaide, Prospect Cinemas, Glenelg Cinemas

4. Cirkidz, Bookings Open Now

WHAT WE LOVE: A new and fun way to get active and creative. The programs are designed with a focus on mindfulness, safe risk taking, inclusion and social interactions for kids of all ages! There are different sessions designed for different age groups which means that everyone can have a go!

5. Hahndorf Farm Barn, Open 7 Days a Week

WHAT WE LOVE: Kids can get up close and personal with a mixture of different wildlife and farm animals. When we say close, you can hold, touch, feel and cuddle the animals at your own comfort level in a completely safe environment. There are a heap of activities at the farm for everyone to get involved with and they're open 7 days a week 10am - 4pm. Head along these holidays!

AGES: All ages

TICKETS: $16 per adult, $13 per child (1-14years), $45 family pass (2 adults and 1 child), $47 family pass (2 adults and 2 children), $54 (2 adults and 3 children), $62 family pass (2 adults and 4 children)
